Obligation of Paying the Deposit

The law on the right to housing of the Region of Castilla y León establishes the penalties applicable to lessors who fail to comply with this obligation of paying the amount of the deposit:

Very serious offences punishable by fines of from 15,001 to 90,000 €

Failure to comply with the obligation of paying the deposits for urban leases within one month from the date of entering into the leasing agreement when the amount exceeds 6,000 euros.

Serious offences punishable by fines of from 3,001 to 15,000 €

Failure to comply with the obligation of paying the deposits for urban leases within one month from the date of entering into the leasing agreement when the amount exceeds 600 euros, the work of inspection is obstructed, or the annual declaration in the arrangement system is presented after the deadline.

Minor offences punishable by a fine of up to 3,000 €

Failure to comply with the obligations of presenting the declarations and of collaborating with the Administration concerning deposits for urban leasing when these are not serious offences.

Failure to comply with any obligations imposed by this Law which are not classed as serious or very serious.
